It took me so long to write this post but I am finally bringing you a review of this eyeshadow palette and at the same time my first high-end purchase. I had an option to visit Sephora for the first time in Paris this September (see my posts With Love From Paris, Addicted to Paris and Chateau de Versailles). Before arrival, I've been choosing between products online and came across this Natural Matte palette. Its good reviews convinced me.
The palette includes nine eyeshadows, all in matte, natural and earthy tones. It is no secret why this palette drew me in- I love such shades! The shades are divided into Day, Classic and Fashion which are the looks described in a small guideline to help beginners create a few looks or give professional artists inspiration. Beside the tiny booklet you can also find a hidden mirror inside, behind the How-To Glamour Guide.
When I first swatched and tested the palette, I found the texture of shades very silky and they didn't produce a lot of fallout. However, when I applied them on my primed eyelids, the shades didn't come out very pigmented. Nor were they easy to blend. I know matte eyeshadows in general are harder to blend than shimmery ones but I found these in particular difficult to blend.
It must be the good reviews that gave me high expectations. Don't get me wrong- the palette is good. For instance, the shades can be build up to achieve certain intensity. And you need to be patient when blending the shades out. It is just that I thought all of that will be made easier when purchasing the palette. A few days ago I watched someone's video and she said she had high hopes for this palette too but it was mainly because her expectations were based on company's excellent Chocolate bar palette. I suppose next time I need to purchase that one to see the real goodness :)
What would you recommend from Too Faced?
Have a nice day,
Next up is a fashion post ;)
