Saturday in Venice

On Saturday I (with mum, aunt and sister) spent an entire afternoon in Venice (Italy). We arrived at eleven o'clock and didn't need much time to drive from town where part of our family lives. It was more like passing through or stopping for a cup of coffee instead of a trip. We had a long walk from parking place to city centre (my poor feet!) where we visited Doge's palace museum and it wasn't my, unfortunately to say, great museum visit. I wouldn't even call it a museum because ninety per cent of things you can see there are paintings on the walls. To see large empty rooms, cost us 16 € per person. And The National Gallery in London has much more too see for no cost at all. We visited another museum or exhibiton, Leonardo da Vinci's innovative creations, from flying objects to a model of a first car ever. Last year or a year before there was an exhibiton in Slovenia too but I haven't seen it so I cannot tell you if it's the same. I was glad I didn't missed this one. Some exhibited works were allowed to touch to test it out and to see how a certain mechanism works. Then we wandered some more through narrow streets and stopped for an ice cream (Italian gelato, yum!), coffee (my sister and I don't drink coffee so we went for a juice instead) and to buy souvenirs for friends. We couldn't stay longer because we had a dinner date with the rest of the family in other town.

SLO: Z mamo, teto in sestro smo sobotno popoldne preživele v Benetkah.

More photos from this weekend coming soon.
